By means of loading unloading cooling fracture(LUCF) tests of three point bending specimens with a pre cracking facilitated by detailed observations upon fracture surface and FEM calculations of stress and strain at crack tip, the effect of warm pre straining(WPS) on fracture behavior of TiAl intermetallic alloys with near γ and fully lamellar α+γ is investigated.
